Different shape, had more upsides than downsides for me. And the shape is why bought it.

Bought as a massive bath towel.. did not dissappoint

Own quite a few of the original bath towels, which my whole family love. I bought one of these immediately when I saw them, hoping it would be the same or similar quality.

While the shape is not standard for towels (made to be more like the big squares used for picnics, etc.), it works just fine as one if you fold the sides in partially to hang it up. It has the same great absorbency as the previous ones, but a lot more of it to love ^_^
